It used to be a very popular design genre but we have moved on and we have evolved in design but one company still think that the design is still the way to go.

I used to like BO’s design and the Danish minimalism but more than a decade has passed and even the Billy bookshelf from IKEA can be more interesting with the right touch than the listed products from a certain manufacturer:

  • iPhone
  • iMac
  • MacBook

Every time I see any of their products I get bored and start thinking of Star Trek and the Borg. I want to be personal and set my own touch and choose my way like any IKEA product and not use something that cannot identify itself with the masses.

Ever since 2004 with the current iMac design I have become more bored and it all ended up with dislike against their design and products even HP and Lenovo made more changes in their main design in a year than the Apple done the past 5 years for the iMac.

Some claim that Sweden has a limited list of products to choose from but as long as there is at least two there is an option. Instead I’d rather choose my product that reflects me and my personality. I want to be able to express myself with an accent product that can reflect me and not become one of the “gray”.

The personality is creative not an Apple product that claims you are creative as long as you own one. Minimalism died a long time ago maybe it is time to express you and your personality and really show that you is you.
