There is something very annoying every time you get a new shiny laptop etc. the annoying metallic stickers that always leaving about 80 percent of all glue still on the product.

Stickers I started to look for something in the house that could dissolve the glue but not damage the plastic so alcohol and aceton is out of the question. I tried window cleaner since it usually cleans everything but the result was less than pleasing.

I had to rethink and change strategy when I started to think of post-it’s and that they always are sticky and takes time to dry out. Then it struck me, oil! I took some canola oil on a paper towel and started to rub it in a circular motion and piece by piece the glue started to dissolve and disappear from the laptop and after a few minutes of rubbing there was no sign of the nasty glue.

Conclusion:
Nasty shiny stickers? Use canola oil or equivalent.
